Partner Attorney Clayton M. Anderson, Esquire

Senior Partner Attorney Clayton M. Anderson of Anderson & KrigerMr. Anderson is a Senior Partner of Anderson & Kriger. He has represented Southern California homeowners in construction defect cases since 1982 and has been a practicing attorney since 1976. With more than 20 jury trials and numerous judge trials in his real estate, business and complex civil litigation career, Mr. Anderson has recovered millions of dollars for his clients.

He received his undergraduate degree in 1970 from the University of California at San Diego and his law degree in 1976 from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he participated on the Appellate Moot Court Board. He was also a writer of the Law Review in 1974, and the Law Review "Notes and Comments" editor in 1975-1976.

Early in his career, Mr. Anderson had extensive courtroom experience in the field of civil litigation, practicing law in both state and federal courts. He has tried cases in San Diego County Municipal Court, Superior Court, and the Fourth District Court of Appeal, United States District Court, and the Bankruptcy Court.

Besides an extensive background in writing on construction defect law, Mr. Anderson has taught and lectured in numerous forums, and continues to refine his skills as a litigator through participating in the San Diego Inns of Court and attending Continuing Education of the Bar litigation seminars. Since 1977 he has been a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and is an active member of the Foothills Bar Association where he served as president in 1993. Clayton Anderson also belongs to the Southwest County Bar Association, the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association, and the Community Association Institute in both San Diego, Riverside and Orange counties.

Mr. Anderson continues to have strong ties to the USD Law School. He has established the Clayton M. Anderson Endowment Fund as a part of the law school's endowment campaign, pledging $50,000.

In 2007, Mr. Anderson joined the law school’s prestigious Board of Visitors after being invited by Dean Kevin Cole to serve a three-year term. Currently there are 57 members on the Board of Visitors, including distinguished legal professionals from around the country. The board provides counsel and feedback to the Dean on a range of issues including financial resources, student admissions and career placement, faculty development, alumni involvement, and outreach to the legal community.

Partner Attorney Joel M. Kriger, Esquire

Co-founding Partner Attorney Kriger at A & K LawMr. Kriger has practiced law since 1974. Providing general counsel to community associations has been his focus since 1980. These services consist of the Homeowner Association retainer program, the collection of delinquent assessments, CC&R enforcement, CC&R revisions, opinion letters, and civil litigation in defense of lawsuits filed against the association and board members. Mr. Kriger has also handled insurance defense matters where the firm was chosen because of legal expertise and prior relationships with satisfied clients.

Mr. Kriger earned his Juris Doctorate in 1973 from the University of San Diego School of Law. In May of 1974 he became a sole practitioner taking on general matters ranging from criminal law to domestic, probate, corporate, landlord tenant, and civil litigation.

Mr. Kriger is a recent "Hall of Fame" award recipient, past president, "Speaker of the Year," education committee chairman, and Mediation Committee founder for Community Associations Institute (CAI-SD). He also supports Greater Inland Empire and Orange County Chapters.

Mr. Kriger is a speaker and educator, both for CAI and colleges such as San Diego State University, and Palomar and San Jacinto Community Colleges. He has written articles on community association law, collections, CC&R issues, and legislative updates for major legal and community publications, CAI-GRIE News, Common Assessment, San Diego Commerce and Condo Management Magazine.
